Summer Arts @ Rodman Hall Ages 6 - 8 yrs.


SUMMER CAMPS
July 2 to 5: UNDER THE SEA
Instructor: Daphni Dremetsikas
Dive in and make magical art that explores the many creatures found under the sea as you create artful fish, mermaids, pirates, and boats. You will also design your own underwater t-shirt (white t-shirt supplied by student).
(4 days), 9 am to 4 pm; $155 (Members $140)

July 8 to 12: ART THAT INSPIRESInstructor: Daphni Dremetsikas
Be inspired by the work of artists like Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. Explore the work of photographer Laura Letinsky on display in the gallery. Experiment with painting, sculpture, mixed media and printmaking and learn to mix techniques and materials this week to create a style that you can call your own.

July 15 to 19 (morning): CREATIVE CRAFTS
Instructor: Daphni Dremetsikas
Combine feathers and fun-foam, re-purpose recycled materials into cool and useful things and add decorative elements to your creations. Projects this week will explore the world of crafty creations.
Supervised lunch break for full-day registrants.

July 15 to 19 (afternoon): SCULPT IT!
Instructor: Daphni Dremetsikas
Explore 3-D art-making as you begin the week working with paper and cardboard sculptures. Get messy as you work with air-dry clay, model magic clay and plaster bandages. Use everyday household materials to get creative and assemble amazing sculptures.
Supervised lunch break for full-day registrants.
1 pm to 4 pm; $105 (Members $95)

July 22 to 26: ART WORLD EXPLORERS
Instructor: Daphni Dremetsikas

Explore and be inspired by amazing cultures and beautiful countries as you make arts and crafts with a global theme. Combining influences from places like Australia, Egypt, Africa and Asia, take an art vacation without leaving home. Even create your own T-shirt, inspired by your artful journey around the world (white t-shirt supplied by student).

August 6 to 9: MINI MASTERPIECES 
Instructor: Daphni Dremetsikas
Make mini masterpieces this week based on some of the most famous and beautiful artworks in the world. Be inspired by amazing artists like Van Gogh, Chagall, Cezanne and Matisse. Learn to paint, draw and sculpt just like a master!

August 12 to 16: THE ART OF A STORY
Instructor: Daphni Dremetsikas
Use your imagination to make great art inspired by fairy tales, movies and the stories of amazing authors and illustrators like Eric Carle, Dr. Seuss and Walt Disney. You will also illustrate your own story book, make a magical puppet and put on a performance!
9 am to 4 pm; $195 (Members $175)

August 19 to 23: COLOURFUL CREATIONS

Paint, sculpt, draw and print your way through this week taking inspirations from the colourful creations of artists like Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol. Create a colourful T-shirt design with ink sticks (white t-shirt supplied by student).
